iOS 18 Developer Beta: How to Install on Your iPhone

Apple has announced that new public betas for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, HomePod software 18, and watchOS 11 are coming soon. As a member of the Apple Beta program, you can now download and install the developer beta of iOS 18 on your iPhone.

How to Download and Install the iOS 18 Developer Beta

1. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

2. The iOS 18 beta should appear there automatically. Once it shows up, tap Install.

3. If you're not seeing the option to turn on beta updates or iOS 18 appear, follow these steps:

1. Go to Apple's Developer Program download page.
2. Find iOS 18 beta and click Download Restore Images.
3. Download the iOS 18 beta file.
4. Open the Finder on your Mac and connect your iPhone.
5. Select your iPhone in the Finder sidebar.
6. Click the Restore iPhone button.
7. Hold the Option key (Alt key on Mac) and click Restore.
8. Select the iOS 18 beta file you downloaded.

Your iPhone will now begin restoring to the iOS 18 beta.

Before you install the iOS 18 beta, make sure to backup your iPhone to iCloud and your computer. The beta software may contain bugs and issues that could cause data loss, so it's important to have a backup in case anything goes wrong.
